*Kaballat Shabbat and Shabbat Dinner:  Friday, March 12. Join us at 6 pm as we welcome Shabbat together as a community. Following services, enjoy the experience of a Persian Shabbat dinner featuring savory traditional Persian dishes: salmon with Persian spices, beans and mushroom stew, eggplant and yellow split pea stew, white rice, green rice with dill and lima beans, two kinds of salads, fruit, and dessert. Challah and wine. Backgammon sets will be on hand.
Regular Price after March 9: $24 (age 13 and up) and $10 aper child age 5-12 (free for children under age 5. $65 max per family.

Torah N' Tefillah: Saturday, March 13, 10:30 am - 12 pm

in Religious School Classroom 2. At Sinai's TNT, students in grades 3-7 from both the Sinai Religious School and the Jewish day schools get the opportunity to put their learning into practice by leading parts of the service, learning new melodies, and exploring Shabbat teachings and stories. 

  
Family Learner's Minyan: Saturday, March 13, 11 am - 12 pm in Religious School classroom 3 for grades K-2.
 
Nursery School Parent's Night Out: Saturday, March 13, 5:30 pm at Sinai. Snacks, fun activities, Havdallah, story time and movies for children ages 2-12. Wear your PJ and bring a sleeping bag. Teachers will watch the kids while parents go out.  This is a fundraiser for a new composting bin and garden supplies for the Nursery School. $25 per child, 18 for each additional child.
 
Sinai Blood Drive: Sunday, March 14, 9:00 am to 1:00 pm at Sinai.  About every two seconds, someone in the U.S. needs blood. Donate blood to the Stanford Blood Bank and make a difference in someone's life. STOP BY SINAI TO DONATE BLOOD. PERFORM A MITZAH! YOU DO NOT NEED AN APPOINTMENT.

Davening Master Class - Hallel: Sunday, March 14, 10:30 am after Rappin' with the Rabbi in the Sanctuary. Rabbi Berkenwald will lead a series of workshops on davenning and the siddur. The first, in anticipation of Pesach, will be on Hallel. Especially designed for those who already know how to lead services and serve as Shaliach Tzibbor.   
 
Jewish Girl Scout Troop Meeting: Sunday, March 14, 1 pm in the Social Hall. Problem solving games.

Office Closed: March 30, March 31, April 5, and April 6 in observance of Passover. 
 
Passover Services at Sinai
Erev Passover: Monday, March 29, 7 - 8:30 am : Siyym Bechorim - morning service and study session, followed by refreshments. We will also observe Break the Siyyum Bechorim  - Breaking the First Borns' Fast.
Erev Passover: Monday, March 29, 8:30 - 10:00 am; Burn your Chametz in the Sinai Parking lot.
1st Day: Tuesday, March 30 at 9 am
2nd Day: Wednesday, March 31 at 9 am

4th Day : Friday, April 2 at 6:00 pm- Kabbalat Shabbat followed by Passover dinner 

5th Day:

Project NOAH: Donate Kosher-for-Passover food items for distribution by Jewish Family Services of Silicon Valley. Contributions of the following Kosher for Passover items would be greatly appreciated: Gefilte fish, horseradish, jam, candies, honey, latke mix, potato starch, grape juice, matzoh ball soup in a jar, matzoh, macaroons, cookies, matzoh meal, cake meal, and tea. A food barrel is in the Sinai foyer through March 25th.
 

Kashering of Sinai kitchen: Wednesday, March 24 from 9 am -2 pm. Volunteers needed for 2 hours shift to assist Rabbi Berkenwald with the task of kashering the kitchen for Passover. Please call the office if you are able to help.

 
Second Night Community Passover Seder: Tuesday, March 30 at 8:00 pm. Led by Rabbi Josh Berkenwald.  Join us to re-experience the exodus from Egypt with a  participatory, and interactive program and a delicious catered, kosher-for-Passover meal. It's a great way to have a delightful Passover celebration without a lot of fuss. Bring your out-of-town family! Help us welcome community members who may be far from home for the holiday! 5th Night Passover Shabbat Dinner: You will be tired of cooking Passover food by then! Come to Shabbat and Passover dinner on Friday, April 2 following 6:00 pm services.
Regular price for Dinner: RSVP after March 29: $24.00 per adult (age 13 and up) and $10.00 per child age 5-12 (free for children under age 5). $65 maximum per family.

2010 Summer Program - The Conservative Yeshiva in Jerusalem Learning For Life! The United Synagogue of Conservative Judaism at the Fuchsberg Jerusalem Center
