Asher Lewis Bar Mitzvah

  • Congregation Sinai 1532 Willowbrae Avenue San Jose, CA, 95125 United States (map)

Hi! My name is Asher Lewis. I am a 7th grader. I started coming to Congregation Sinai as a preschooler and have since attended Sunday school every year. My hobbies include drawing, watching YouTube videos, and reading. I am an especially big fan of the Harry Potter series (Ravenclaw, anyone?).

My parasha is Vayikra, the first portion of Leviticus. It talks about God telling Moses about all of the laws of sacrifices and offerings, such as how to slaughter them and what to burn. I’d like you to count how many times “re’ach nichoach” is mentioned over the course of the parasha.

Huge thank you to Rabbi Josh for helping me polish up my D’var Torah, and Moreh Doug for teaching me the whole Torah service plus the trope! I would also like to thank the rest of the religious school staff for not only helping me make it to this Shabbat day but for making it fun. Shabbat Shalom!

Debbie and Jonathan Lewis invite you to join their family as they celebrate the Bar Mitzvah of their son, Asher, at Congregation Sinai. Kiddush luncheon, hosted by Debbie and Jonathan, will follow the service. Please join Asher and his family for this wonderful simcha. All are encouraged to attend.

SHABBAT MORNING SERVICES CAN BE VIEWED AT HTTPS://WWW.SINAI-SJ.ORG/LIVE. NO ACCOUNT OR PASSWORD IS REQUIRED.

Please note that if you attend in-person, you may appear on-screen. The livestream view will be of the ark, the bima, the podium and the first two rows in the Sanctuary. Anyone whose preference is not to be included in the frame should sit a few rows back and not ascend the bimah.
