LIMMUD LA-AD PRESENTS A TRIP TO UGANDA WITH RABBI LAURIE MATZKIN

Rabbi Matzkin was honored to study for 5 years of rabbinical school with the current Chief Rabbi of Uganda, Gershom Sizomu. After 16 years of friendship, she was honored to visit the Abayudaya Jewish community of Uganda this summer, and participate not only in Rabbi Gershom's daughter's Bat Mitzvah, but also the Centennial Celebration of Jews in Uganda. Following Sunday Morning Minyan, she will share a slideshow about her trip as well as background about this very unique Jewish community in Africa.
