On Erev Pesah, it is customary for first born men and women to fast in commemoration of having been spared from the tenth plague: The Killing of the First Born. Parents would generally fast for their pre-B’nei Mitzvah first born. The first born are permitted to end their fast by participating in a siyyum, or a meal celebrating the conclusion of the completion of a volume of rabbinic literature.

The Rabbinical Assembly is sponsoring an online West Coast siyyum, led by Rabbis Adam Kligfeld, Rebecca Schatz and Hillary Chorny from Temple Beth Am in Los Angeles.
