Through documentary videos and discussion, this course will delve into the history of the creation of the new State of Israel from the first Zionist Congress in Basel in 1897 to the Israel declaration of independence in 1948. The study is intended to promote greater understanding of the history of the State of Israel and the Jewish people’s relation to it.

Alternate Wednesdays, August 26, 2020— January 20, 2021 (Intro + 10 sessions) 7:00 pm to 8:00 pm via Zoom. Note: Participants will be asked to view a one hour documentary before each class. Videos will be available online and can be watched at the viewer’s convenience.
